Privacy policy, Payment, deposit, and cancellation information


​CANCELLATIONS
  • Note that our direct booking cancellation policies are much more flexible than booking through 3rd party sites like Booking.com and Expedia. 

  • Bookings made through all 3rd party booking partners are non-refundable for any reason inside 30 days from the start of your reservation.  There are also some 3rd party booking partners that offer rates that are non-refundable at any time and we do not control those policies.

  • Bookings made directly with The Vieques Guesthouse including walk-in, over the phone, or through our online booking site [https://hotels.cloudbeds.com/reservation/idmBqO], are fully refundable 30 or more days prior to the start of your reservation. Up until your reservation starts, if we are able to rebook your room, we will offer you hotel credit.  For reservations cancelled between 15 and 30 days prior to the start of your reservation, your 50% deposit will be forfeited. Reservations cancelled 14 or less days prior to the start of your reservation are not refundable.  However, if we are able to rebook your room, we will offer hotel credit.  Credit is good for up to one year from the date of original booking and is based on what the room rebooks for, not what you originally paid.

  • We are happy to make changes or give full refund within 24 hours of your booking if your stay starts 2 or more days in the future, within 12 hours if your booking starts 24-48 hours in the future, or within 2 hours if your reservation starts 24 or less hours in the future.

  • We recommend you consider travel insurance for any unforeseen events affecting your visit to Vieques.  We are responsible for having your room ready and waiting for your arrival.  We are not responsible for getting you here. 
  • The Vieques Guesthouse is not responsible for travel delays, medical emergencies, deaths in your family, bad weather, or anything else that may affect your ability to arrive for your reservation. 
  • There are many travel insurance companies out there that provide inexpensive insurance to cover such events - we do not recommend any particular one. You might check out information and options for travel insurance here:  https://www.squaremouth.com/travel-insurance-benefits/trip-cancellation 
  • Early departures cannot be refunded.

PRIVACY TEXTING POLICY
  • By providing your mobile number, you agree to receive text messages from The Vieques Guesthouse.  You may receive texts about your reservation, online check-in, offers, and customer support.  Messaging frequency varies depending on specific needs of your reservation.  You may opt out of receiving messages by texting the word STOP to 939 739 8081, or simply reply with the word STOP to any text message you receive from The Vieques Guesthouse.  Text HELP for help at 939 739 8081. Message and data rates may apply. 

PAYMENT METHODS ACCEPTED
  • Visa, MasterCard, and Discover are accepted for reservation deposits online or over the phone.
  • A valid credit card must be supplied at check in to cover any damages or incidental charges.

DEPOSIT & PAYMENT
  • A deposit of 50% of your total reservation cost is required at the time your reservation is made.​
  • The remainder of your reservation balance will be charged 30 days prior to the start of your reservation.  The same card you used for reservation deposit will be used for full payment unless you provide the hotel in advance with an alternate payment method.
  • All room rates except the two bedroom apartment are for two guests per bed maximum occupancy. The two bedroom apartment base rate includes four guests with additional guests up to six maximum incurring $15 extra cost each per night.

CHECK IN & CHECK OUT
  • Minimum age for check in is 21.  A government issued ID is required.
  • Check in time starts at 3PM.
  • The hotel office closes at 5PM.  It is your responsibility to let us know if you will be arriving after 5PM so we can send you late check-in instructions.
  • A $50 damage deposit is required at check-in and will be collected via credit card. This deposit will be refunded after checkout, provided no damages are found. Guests arriving after office hours must ensure the deposit is paid prior to the office closing.​
  • Check out time is at 10 AM.
  • Check outs after 10 AM will result in a full day charge unless previously agreed to by the management.

HOUSE RULES
  • For the enjoyment of all our guests the minimum age allowed is 10 years old.
  • The rooftop and entire 3rd floor including rooms and balcony are for 16 and older only.
  • Puerto Rico law does NOT allow smoking in the rooms or on the balconies. Smoking, vaping, or burning of incense or anything else in the rooms will result in a minimum $250.00 deep cleaning fee up to our actual costs for getting rid of any residual smell.
  • Each room's occupancy limit is stated in its respective description.
  • Only guests who are registered with The Vieques Guesthouse are allowed on the property.
  • We reserve the right to cancel your reservation with no refund if you arrive with more people than the room allows, or with children under 10.
  • If you bring additional people to the room after check-in, your entire party will need to leave the Guesthouse, you will need to find other accommodations, and you will forfeit the remainder of your reservation and deposit.
  • Zero tolerance policy for under the influence / belligerent behavior. If you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol and belligerent at the Guesthouse, you will be charged a $250 fee for disturbing the property and us having to deal with you. You may be removed from the property at our discretion without refund for any remaining days of your reservation. If you cause any damage, you will be charged for repairs or replacement. If you cause a room to be out of service, you will be charged the standard room rate until the room is put back into service. Don't behave badly and all will be well.

DAMAGE
  • A $250 deep-cleaning fee and/or the cost to replace bedding, linens, furnishings, decorations, etc., will apply for excessive filth.
  • Permanent damage to bedding, linens, furnishings, decorations, facilities inside and outside of guestroom, etc., will result in a charge equal to the replacement value of the item(s) plus any labor costs. If the room or any portion of the Guesthouse has to be taken out of service, the full daily rate will be charged until repairs are completed.
  • The Vieques Guesthouse is an entirely non-smoking, non-vaping, non-burning/incense property.  If there is any evidence of smoking, vaping, burning in your room including residual odor, you will be charged a $250 deep cleaning fee.  Residual smoke odor in bedding, linens, furnishings, decorations, etc., will result in a charge equal to the replacement value of the items(s) or labor costs for cleaning.  If the room has to be taken out of service to mitigate smoke smell, the full daily rate will be charged until smell is gone.

GROUP CANCELLATIONS​

  • Group cancellation policy 4-5 rooms:
    • Cancellation outside 60 days from check-in is free of charge
    • Cancellation from 30-60 days 50% is forfeit per room unless hotel can rebook
    • Cancellation from 0-29 days 100% is forfeit per room unless hotel can rebook

  • Group cancellation policy 6+ rooms:
    • Cancellation outside 90 days from check-in is free of charge
    • Cancellation from 60-90 days 50% is forfeit per room unless hotel can rebook
    • Cancellation from 0-60 days 100% is forfeit per room unless hotel can rebook    

TAXES AND FEES
  • A 5% Recovery Fee and 9% Puerto Rico Room Tax will be applied to all reservations.
