History The Vieques Guesthouse is a 3-minute walk to the Malecón in Esperanza, making it the ideal location for enjoying our beaches, restaurants, shops, and nightlife, without having to rent a car or being disturbed by the occasional noise from evening festivities on the Malecón. We are the only barrio (neighborhood) on the island with pick-up locations you can walk to for tours of the brightest bioluminescent bay in the world.
We fell in love with Vieques on our first trip to the island, and saw the potential for a new life. On our flight back to Nebraska, we started making plans to sell our newly remodeled dream house there, along with most of our worldly possessions, in order to pursue the dream of moving to a tropical island. Since purchasing the guesthouse in 2015, we have renovated and upgraded the entire facility. We welcome you warmly to join us as we continue our journey here. We hope that our pleasant and attentive service will make your stay memorable, encouraging you to return in the future and watch us grow. Steve and Niki |
Welcome
Experience
The Vieques Guesthouse, Experience Vieques! From room choices that accommodate almost any traveler, to a tropical environment, to peaceful balconies and a roof top patio with expansive views of the Caribbean Sea, The Vieques Guesthouse will offer you a memorable experience. The owners pride themselves in taking care of their guests and making them feel at home, while providing a relaxed atmosphere from the first moment they step through the front door. The Vieques Guesthouse is perfect for a romantic getaway, a family vacation, groups traveling together, or a visit before or after a Caribbean cruise. We are located a short walk from the restaurants, bars, and shops on the Malecón in Esperanza. You will be within walking distance of Esperanza Beach and Sun Bay Beach (the only beaches on Vieques with restrooms and food for sale). The Sun Bay facility also contains Media Luna beach, Navio beach, and the world's brightest Bioluminescent Bay. If you are looking for some quiet time, we can direct you to a few hidden beaches where you are more likely to see a horse than another person. The Vieques Wildlife Refuge is a 5 minute drive and contains several gorgeous beaches. The ferry terminal in Isabel II, and the airport are less than 15 minutes by car. Once you are here you can join one of many sight-seeing or water sports tours, join the weekend revelry with the locals on the Malecón, explore on your own (it is an island, you cannot get lost), or just grab a book and find a shady spot on a secluded beach. Buen Viaje! |
